Endurance Riding

Endurance Riding is a fun, challenging way to spend time in the saddle. Endurance focuses on long-distance riding and training in both speed and longevity. Endurance riders and horses are trained both physically and mentally to endure rides at speed and conserving energy for longer rides.

Endurance Lessons

We offer lessons in Endurance Riding locally in Plymouth Massachusetts.

Our facility enables us to offer longer-distance and more challening rides of between 2.5 and 10 miles.

If you are interested in Endurance Riding, we are a great opportunity to dip your toes in before committing to the sport by buying a horse or retraining your own.

Endurance Riding is challenging for both horse and rider. An Endurance Rider must be both physically able to spend long periods of time in the saddle and an advanced enough rider to lead their horse safely through these rides.  All riders must be comfortable and competent at the walk, trot, canter, and gallop. The rider must feel secure steering a horse around tricky footing and through different terrain.

Endurance Riders are trained in safety on the road, trails, and open spaces. We can teach you how to safely open up your horse, what footing is secure enough for faster speeds, and how to ride with low-risk during open season.

We offer lessons on our trained and physically fit horses. If you would like to bring your own horse, please be sure that your horse is physically able to complete longer rides at the walk, trot, canter, and gallop. Your horse should have energy that is containable and be road safe.

Completing Endurance Rides on a horse that is not physically prepared for these long distance rides can be detrimental to the horse's wellbeing and can lead to permanent physical injury.

Entry level Endurance lessons range from 2-4 hours in the saddle and the rider must have taken at least 1 lesson with Maguire Equine so we can gauge the rider's preparedness for these challenging rides.

These lessons are only scheduled on the weekend and are weather permitting. A non-refundable deposit is required. Rescheduling allowed.
